Matching European Opportunities with Needs

Delta

Innhold

There are numerous international, primarily European, funding opportunities available for young people to participate in and for youth workers to access for youth work programmes.

This activity invites you to explore youth work resources by utilising human knowledge and experience, online search engines, and AI tools.

Let's start with watching an animated video which explains various international youth work forms.

Though matching young people's interests and needs with European youth programmes is an exercise in itself. You may want to check the following activities and resources:

European funding programmes offer resources to support young people's participation, learning and empowerment. At the same time, they will require a commitment from those involved, including participants, volunteers, and youth workers, as well as their time, competencies, and other resources.

Let's explore European funding resources.

Download the following learner profiles and randomly select at least two of them. If you engage with young people, you can consider them your target group for involvement in European youth programmes.

Your task is to match the learner needs with existing European youth programmes.

In your search for opportunities, you need to use the following sources:
  • Knowledge/experiences of your team/organisation members;
  • At least two search engines;
  • At least two AI tools.

By the end of your search, you will need to present specific opportunities matching the learner's needs. In your result, you need to highlight: a) What resources does a particular opportunity offer; b) What resources does a particular opportunity require.

You may find some of the opportunities presented in the playlist "European Funding Programmes".

Awero organisation created this educational resource and activity for the youth worker training course on managing resources.

This activity supports the development of youth workers' competence in the "Managing Resources" area. Activity content and badge issuing criteria aligned with the European Training Strategy (ETS) competence model for youth workers to work internationally:
  • Developing programmes or activities based on a needs-and-opportunities analysis (including of the community, and of socialising activities).
  • Skill of adjusting programme elements to resources management;
  • Sincere interest in the young people's well-being;
  • Ability to work with diverse groups in a learning context;
  • Fundraising and managing financial resources;
  • Knowledge of financial management (with a focus on projects/programmes);
